Introduce continuous tests to replace exams

That period when students invest time revising for exams is with us yet again. Often, these preparations have been marred by teachers’ strikes.

This is yet another reason exams should not be used to gauge the ability of students.

We should change tact with regard to how we examine our students. This idea of one instance-exams, where a slight misfortune can terminate the dreams of a student, should be discarded.

A student who falls ill or gets injured, especially in disaster prone areas should be given a chance through continuous assessment tests that also discourage cramming.
