Kenyans never learnt a lesson from Westgate

What you need to know:

  • Now you can board a matatu and alight anywhere with nobody to check if you are carrying weapons.

It disturbs me to see we have not learnt much from last year’s Westgate attack. Many security loopholes still exists.

The Nyumba Kumi initiative is for now forgotten. How I wish Internal Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku was serious about it!

Many business premises are manned by private security guards. The only weapon they rely on is a rungu, yet even 50 guards with rungus cannot stop one or two terrorists armed with a gun. Why don’t we arm them with guns?

Now you can board a matatu and alight anywhere with nobody to check if you are carrying weapons.
