Mombasa council has lost war on garbage

Mombasa town and its environs need a clean-up and buildings should be spruced up. The municipal council seems to have gone to deep sleep. Dump sites are mushrooming every day and the mountains of garbage are all over the town.

A new dump site has emerged on the mainland side at Kilindini port. A visit to the council’s Public Health Department offices in Mwembe Tayari eaves one in shock. While there, ask to use the toilets, you will be shocked to see broken sinks and filth overflowing on the floor.
