Sacking Ugandans has returned to haunt Kenya

What you need to know:

  • This did not stop President Moi from ordering the sacking of Ugandans who had secured teaching jobs in Kenya, thereby consigning the affected individuals to poor lonely lives in a foreign land.

Why are Kenyans so furious about South Sudan’s order on foreigners to leave jobs for locals?

Kenyans do not have an iota of moral dignity to question the SPLA’s decision.

In the 1980s, Uganda had just emerged from a protracted war with itself.

This did not stop President Moi from ordering the sacking of Ugandans who had secured teaching jobs in Kenya, thereby consigning the affected individuals to poor lonely lives in a foreign land.

If this was right then, what makes the SPLA’s decision wrong? What is good for the goose should be good for the gander! After all, the Sudanese have been unable to access jobs in Kenya!
