Someone, please stop selfish MPs from mutilating our laws

The amendments made by MPs on the crucial Election and Political Parties Act are uncalled for and ridiculous.

The House was turned into the theatre of the absurd when MPs selfishly made a law that will see double standards applied on the candidates in the next General Election.

It is ridiculous to exempt sitting MPs and councillors from the well-intentioned rule on aspirants’ level of education and subject the rest of candidates to it.

The rule demanded that aspirants must have at least a diploma.

The repeal of the law to legalise party hopping made a joke of efforts to streamline political parties.

It is astonishing and heartbreaking to see the behaviour of our members of Parliament.

They have passed a Bill that allows them party-hopping and defection from one party to another; there will be insanity in politics if this goes through.

This is like colonising the common Kenyan whereby MPs make changes to suit their interests without consulting anybody. Of course they know Kenyans would never allow this.

Kenyans are watching the behaviour of our MPs. My appeal to Fellow Kenyans is to vote for leaders who make Kenya a better place, not leaders hell-bent on retaining the old order.
