Terrorist attacks are now something Kenyans must accept to live with. But much as the government is comforting us that it has what it takes to eliminate terror elements in the country, surprise attacks like the one on innocent Kenyans at Assanands in Moi Avenue pose a serious challenge.

Security forces cannot be everywhere. The public needs to take a more serious interest in terrorism for their own security. We need a public campaign on easy-to-understand lessons to all Kenyans on prevention, including reporting suspicious characters.
