Why the House of Mumbi should climb down

And although you are hanging on a thin creeper between an angry elephant and a snake, you don’t care. You want to enjoy the honey, the presidency. Unfortunately, the creeper will snap and you will have to deal with the snake at the bottom of the well. On this, the choice is yours.
The third thought regards Mungiki. When my father joined Mau Mau, they called it a Mungiki-type movement. Yet it was a group of restless young people whose ‘‘wazees’’ had lost direction. I want to put it to you that you have no leadership. The ‘‘wazees’’ in your ranks have reached intellectual menopause. And in this state, they have exhibited unnecessary arrogance towards others.
As a shareholder in your tribe, I submit that you need new leadership. A leadership that will cause you to climb down in the interest of the country. One that is not beholden to the ‘‘athomi’’ and one that will respect the other communities.

The bourgeoisie of the society do exploit the proletariat. Not only is this a Kikuyu affair, but it is international. This article only serves as a reminder of the status-quo and how the rich connive their way into tricking the "commoners". With reference to the Kikuyu tribe, it can be broken down to other tribes and how they all need to be respectful. We are seeing the manifestations of the "intellectual menopause" from our OURDATED leaders at play.

Sorry Brother Mutahi Ngunyi, I total disagree with you WHY should the Kikuyu be "asked" to stand down for 39 communities???? Does it mean the entire country/tribes cant access statehouse unless one tribe "accepts to step down"?????? Is that what you meant I hope not Alan E Masakhalia Malakal, South Sudan

So, who will the athomi put to be the President in 2012? Thanks Mutahi, this has really enlighted me about the way Kikuyu people treat other tribes in Kenya.

Understand the culture quit clearly before commenting on it. Don't force it to fit your understanding, use other points to defend your stand but don't misquote the culture. The issue of Mungiki (a crowd of kikuyu people coming together to worship "Mwene Nyaga - God" thats original meaning), ahoi (beggars due to laziness) and athomi (Successful people due to their hardwork) are applied wrongly. The selfishness and greediness of the 'big people' can't be related to ahoi and athomi culture.

Great article Mutahi, I have tried selling this truth to my Kikuyu friends but it always comes out like a tribal attack, but truth be told Kikuyus need to realise that the elite have stolen from the commoners and use tribe to blind them. Its time Kikuyus reject the arrogant wazee!!
