It is the height of folly to think along tribal lines

Like the Serpent, you must supply the fruit of knowledge of good and bad right at the time of creation. If you do not begin imparting ethical awareness from the very cradle, it will be difficult to impart it effectively at a later date.
That is why — if we want a better generation of political and other leaders — parents must stop feeding their children with woeful tales about other tribes and races and the theory of leadership must be taught at all levels.

it is true that we have to teach our children against tribalisim. l am over thirty years old and l can say that i have no tribalism in me but unfortunetly that is not what l can say of my father who is 70 years old. For instance my father is not happy with me because l have a kikuyu girlfriend while l am luhya. He does not comprehend why l cannot find a nice luhya lady! so let us teach our children that we are all kenyans and tribes are only ethenic and cultural differences.

Kenya was created arbitrary by the British. Our previous independent and hostile nations were conquered and forced to live together. When the British left, we continued to live together unhappily, with the ruling elites as the new masters. It is time we appreciated what we are, and not what we are supposed to be. It is clear that the majority thinks and acts tribal. Our strength lies in recognizing and learning to live with our diversity.

Thank you Mr. Philip. Of course as the saying goes, " You where you saw and is where you shall reap." This is more true in morals and ethical values than anything else. Philip am not afraid of answering your question. Where are we going ?... We continue with our current trend, there is going to be serious social upheaval until everything collapses.

You are spot on Mr Ochieng. But I dare ask...does teaching an Africa western education make him/her more real or more fake. What exactly do we learn in school? I think we need to go back to the roots. In fact the older generations though warlike..were more fare to other tribes than we are today. At least they could agree to stop war. Today we have to import someone to separate us. Let us get real in our lives
