Improve quality of life for police officers to increase security

- The officers expected to graduate in February next year, will ensure that for the first time in our history, Kenya has met the United Nations requirement in terms of the number of police officers to the population.
- In recent months, 3,971 Administration police officers and an additional 3,933 joined the police force.

This is a good move, which has been anticipated for quite some time.
The officers expected to graduate in February next year, will ensure that for the first time in our history, Kenya has met the United Nations requirement in terms of the number of police officers to the population.
The UN recommends one police officer for every 400 citizens for a country to be policed effectively.
In recent months, 3,971 Administration police officers and an additional 3,933 joined the police force.
As this happens, the government is expected to provide better equipment to ensure that the police officers do their work effectively.
It should also work diligently to ensure that police are well paid to carry out their mandate and to protect them, even as they protect Kenyans.
As the number of police officers increases, housing which has been a major crisis among the officers, will also be a challenge.
Hence the Ministry of Interior has the role of commissioning the construction of new and modern houses for the law and order enforcers.
