Origin: France
Maker: Louis Moinet Meteoris
This is a collection of four chronographs, each featuring a rare meteorite: Tourbillon Mars, Tourbillon Rosetta Stone, Tourbillon Asteroid and Tourbillon Moon. The price is not for the whole collection, rather, one piece from this specific set. The cost is explained thus in LouisMoinet.com:
Tourbillon Mars - Because of their rarity, Martian meteorites can sell for as much as US$1,000 per gram – more than 15 times the current price of gold.
Tourbillon Rosetta Stone: Geological experts have used ultra-precise measurement techniques that suggest this rock is 4.6 billion years old.
Tourbillon Asteroid: The dial features a hand-crafted fragment of the mysterious Itqiy meteorite which formed close to the sun thousands of years ago before making its way to Earth.
Tourbillon Moon: The dial features a hand-crafted fragment of the extremely rare Dhofar 459 meteorite, an authentic piece of the Moon that fell to Earth. The Dhofar 459 is thousands of years old.
If one would think about buying all four to complete the set, then it would only be appropriate for them to sum it up with the Meteoris Solar System, the casing that depicts the entire solar system. PHOTO| COURTESY, WORDS|THOMAS RAJULA
