In Summary
- GSU coach banned for one year by KVF as the tae kwon do man faces indefinite suspension
“We have since informed him and his employers. As a member of the police force, he should be at the fore front of maintaining law and order,” he said.
This means that GSU will have to defend its league title without their long serving coach on November 26 during the national play off at Kasarani.
GSU together with Kenya Prisons, KCB and Blue Triangle are the four finalist for the three-day play off tournament.
The women competition will have champions KCB, Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Prisons and Blue Triangle. KTF secretary general George Wasonga read the riots act to the trio in what is aimed at streamlining the federation’s operations.
“You have undermined the office of the chairman of the Kenya taekwondo association and the entire executive committee by sabotaging the participation of the national team’s participation at the just concluded World championships in Denmark, the facts which are well known to you,” said Wasonga.
Chacha was accused of fraudulently using his position in (NOCK), where he serves as assistant Secretary General, to have tickets issued to persons his choice.
“In trying to have yourself allowed to attend the General Assembly, you lied to the organizers that the Kenya team was already in Denmark knowing very well that the team was still in Kenya. This made the embassy doubt the credibility of the team hence denying the team visas while they investigated the issue.”
Wasonga noted that Chacha’s action was selfish and cost the country to forfeit its slot in the the world championships causing a huge embarrassment to the entire nation. It also denied the fighters a chance for exposure.
