ENJOYING HOME SUPPORT

Despite enjoying home support, KPA, whose majority of players are based upcountry, will not be at ease as most of their players will be struggling to acclimatise to the high humidity levels in Mombasa.
This is expected to be the case with other teams from up country like KDF.

Having had a two-week residential training in Mombasa, KPA tactician Sammy Masai, however believes his players will not have any problems adjusting to the hot weather during today’s match which he admits will be tricky.

ENOUGH MOTIVATION

The presence of former Japan-based James Ontere in the KPA lineup is enough motivation for the team that will also rely on Sammy Ngeny, Joseph Pushati and Sam Juma whose combination with Dalmas Mukhwana, Benjamin Yego, Solomon Salbei and Josephat Kirwa saw them finish the KVF national league season on top of the log.

Other players coach Masai is expected to field against the soldiers include John Bosco Opendi, Nahashon Biwot, Wesley Tarus and Kennedy Korir .
KDF coach Joshua Ruto will rely on his star players like Sila Makiso and Gideon Tarus.

The other men’s encounter will see defending champions Kenya Prisons take on General Service Unit (GSU) at 12 noon.

The women’s matches will see Kenya Prisons take on Nairobi Water from 2.00pm while defending champions Kenya Pipeline have a date with Kenya Commercial Bank from 16.00pm.
