Deposed champion Ulinzi Warriors, will open their campaign against USIU-A Tigers.

Their attractive looking first leg duel is among 12 matches lined up at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium and Upper Hill School on Saturday.

Ulinzi coach William Balozi said they have beefed up their defence by recruiting point guard Collins Muliro from Congo and Hussein Mohammed (Baobab) both from Mombasa to team up with Tiberius Menya.

Thunder, who were beaten 3-1 by Co-op Bank in the play-off semi-final last year, will begin the new season without two of their top players in forward Kevin Chogo and Shem Otieno, who joined Equity Bank and Co-op Bank clubs respectively.

The first leg women’s Premier League first leg tie between newly crowned champions Equity Bank and former champions USIU-A Flames, which was scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed, according to Joseph Amoko, KBF fixture secretary.
