Chicago Bulls end Warriors' 19-game home win streak in OT

OAKLAND

Derrick Rose scored 30 points and the Chicago Bulls outlasted Golden State 113-111 in overtime Tuesday, snapping the Warriors' club-record home win streak at 19 games.

The Warriors, leading the NBA in 3-pointers, went 0-for-13 from beyond the arc in the second half and over-time, missing all four long-range tries in the decisive extra five minutes, when Golden State was 2-of-11 shooting from the floor.

Rose sank the winning basket with just over seven seconds remaining, sinking a long jumper with Klay Thompson's hand in his face. Thompson missed a running jump shot in the dying seconds that would have forced a second over-time.

"Our big thing was to come out with momentum," Rose said. "We knew it was big to stay with them."

Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol each added 18 points for the Bulls, with Frenchman Noah grabbing 15 rebounds and passing out six assists and Spaniard Gasol adding 16 rebounds and eight assists.

"Their front-line is as long and tall as any in the NBA," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "We really scrapped. I didn't think it was a lack of effort. It was a great game. We thought we had it won a couple of times but we couldn't finish it out."

BATTLE TO LIFT BULLS TO VICTORY

Injury-nagged Rose played 43 minutes, his most in any game since 2012, and went 13-of-33 from the field while making 11 turnovers, but battled all night on offense and defence to lift Chicago to victory.

The Bulls improved to 30-17, third in the Eastern Conference and atop the Central division, while the Warriors fell to 36-7, still the best record in the NBA.

Golden State, which slid to 21-2 at home this season, had won 13 of their prior 14 games and had been unbeaten in 14 prior starts this season against Eastern Conference rivals.

The Warriors lead the NBA in scoring and shooting accuracy as well as shooting defence, but hit only 42.5 percent, 48-of-113 shots, in the loss after finishing regulation time deadlocked at 107-107.

"Our guys were a little worn out but we made a hell of an effort," Kerr said. "Just one of those games. Sometimes the shots don't go. We were scrapping and clawing. Just couldn't finish it out."

The Bulls improved the NBA's best road record to 17-6. While Chicago had lost seven of 11 prior starts overall, the Bulls won their 10th road game in the past 13 away starts.

Golden State had won 112-102 at Chicago last month.
