KPA, who qualified for the women’s championship after winning Fiba-Africa Zone Five qualifiers in Dar es Salaam, booked a date with Agosto after finishing fourth with five points in the five-team Group A.
KPA won only one match, a 71-55 success against Etoile Filante of Togo and lost three. Agosto, who have played in three African finals in a row, led Group B with eight points. The Angolans won all their four preliminary round matches.
Kenya’s other representatives, USIU-A Flames, were knocked out of the 10-day tournament after finishing last in their five-team Group B without a win.
The Kenyan champions lost to First Bank of Nigeria 75-37 on Wednesday. They had earlier lost 74-38 to GSP of Algeria and also fell 98-41 to defending champions De Agosto of Angola.
