Former winner Ian Duncan will miss this year’s round of the KCB Kenya National Rally Championship in Nanyuki on Friday.

The driver cited withdrawal of his sponsors, National Oil, as the reason for the sad decision.

“National Oil has decided to pull out of the deal after a very healthy relationship. The decision was theirs entirely but we are thankful and look forward to working with them again,’’ Duncan said.

National Oil has seen Duncan through many achievements, among them clinching several accolades that included major victories and the overall title of the Kenya National Rally Championship series. The reason for company’s decision was unclear.

Duncan is now looking for new sponsors. He also wants to sell his Mitsubishi Lancer EVOX and buy a more competitive car of the ST2000 status. The driver is also toying with the idea of returning to the Toyota Pickup in selected events.
