Dismas Indiza Friday clinched the top prize during the second leg of the 2014 KCB Golf Tour series at Royal Nairobi Golf Club.

Despite hitting a string of bogeys at the back nine which resulted into a one over par 73, the Mumias Golf Club player won to take home Sh192,000.

Indiza had started well, firing three under at the front nine which included three birdies at the fourth, sixth and seventh.

He picked up three back to back bogeys from the 11th to 13th, birdied the 14th but dropped two shots at the 16th and 18th for four over par at the back nine and a 73.

This saw Indiza finish with seven under par total of 281 to also win 20 points towards the KCB Golf Tour series Order of Merit.

“The morning rains really affected play in the final round where everybody wanted good results,’’ Indiza lamented.

Indiza won by five shots from Muthaiga’s Nicholas Rokoine, who shot two over par 74 for two under par 286 to win Sh145,000 and 19 points towards the Order of Merit. Rokoine bogeyed the third and fourth and the 15th at the back nine.

Vet Lab’s Brian Njoroge bogeyed two holes at the outward nine and three at the back nine where he also dropped at the 11th and 12th and 15th and 17th for five over par 77 and a total of 291.

Home pro David Wakhu and South Africa based Stefan Andersen tied on 293 in fourth place.

The large field of 200 amateurs were still battling it out in the chilly weather conditions which made the Royal course playing very long.
