Gor Mahia has settled on Frank Nuttal as the club’s head coach, Daily Nation Sport can exclusively reveal.

However, in what could rank as a first in employment circles and especially the world of football, the little-known Briton is set to join the Kenyan champions on a ‘trial basis’ until the end of the current league season, and then, depending on performances, either be awarded a longer contract or done away with.

Club secretary-general Chris Omondi confirmed Nuttal’s arrival but refused to divulge any more information. “Wait till he arrives. We will definitely let you (media) know,” Omondi said.

However, another top official of the club who did not wish to be named, confirmed to Daily Nation Sport that Nuttal had been recommended to the club’s administration by former coach Bobby Williamson. Williamson quit his role as Gor coach two weeks ago to take charge of the national football team after guiding K’Ogalo to its first league title after 18 years last term.
