Kenya has been awarded the hosting rights for the competition which will take place over a period eight days, starting from April 16.

Bigwigs Prisons, this year’s runners-up Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Commercial Bank who finished third in the domestic league this season, are primed to take part in the competition.

The three clubs will compete for continental honours at the Safaricom Indoor Arena and Nazarene University courts alongside 20 other African teams, including top guns Al Ahly from Egypt, GSP Algiers (Algeria), FAR Rabat (Morocco), Inter Club Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), Club Vision Volleyball (Uganda),  Water Sport (Ethiopia), Rwanda Revenue Authority and INJS Yaoundé (Cameroon).

“This is a very important competition for us. We have a young new team and I believe it’s better to start giving our team exposure at home. With the home support and the quality of play I saw from the young team, we will be going for the title,” Lung’aho, whose won this competition a record seven times - including thrice on home soil - told Daily Nation Sport Thursday evening.
