Prisons Mombasa raid Bungoma for two players

  • Among those poached by Prisons Mombasa, who finished seventh in last season’s 12-team competition, are left attacker Wycliffe Moiben and libero Tom Wanjala.

Prisons Mombasa have raided rivals Bungoma County’s camp and made away with two dependable players ahead of the 2017 Kenya Volleyball Federation men’s league season.

The eight month competition serves off in Nyeri County on March 3, with Prisons Mombasa facing Nairobi Prisons in one of the 12 fixtures of the opening leg.

Among those poached by Prisons Mombasa, who finished seventh in last season’s 12-team competition, are left attacker Wycliffe Moiben and libero Tom Wanjala.

Also joining the Mombasa based Prisons stable is national team trialist Kimani Anthony and Nyambu Obadiah.

“They have now joined us in preparations for the season, having passed-out last week after undergoing the mandatory Prisons recruits training. They will significantly strengthen our squad,” said Prisons overall head coach David Lung’aho.

The team has intensified training at the Voi Boys High School.
