Kenya Prisons lost in straight sets of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-17 scores to Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel, on the opening day of the men's Africa Club volleyball Championship in Tunis on Friday night.

As expected, this turned out to be a tough contest for the Kenyan champions against the host team, even though the set scores suggest the losers put up a brave fight away to an experienced opponent who was backed by an intimidating crowd.

It wasn't all heart break for the Libyans though as  Assarya came out 3-2 (25-20, 24-26, 26-28, 25-14 and 17-15) victors over Rwanda's University of Kibungo.

Also, Algeria's Borj Bouaririj eased to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-14 and 25-17) win over Burkina Fasso's AS Douanes whilst seasoned campaigners FAP of Cameroon overcame Sudan Alnahda 3-0 (25-20, 25-16 and 26-24).
