Pascaliah Jepkorir, the 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon bronze medallist, is also expected in the women's 8km senior race.

"A number of athletes will be competing at the race as most seek form ahead of the six Athletics Kenya meetings," race organiser Kibet Rono said.

"Most athletes would opt to compete in as many cross country races as possible, of course while careful not to burn out.”

Apart from the 6km junior women, 8km senior women and junior men and 10km senior men elite races, children will compete in 1km and 2km races.
