Ethiopia's Kenenisa Bekele showed his enduring class by winning the 10 kilometre Great Manchester Run on Sunday.
The distance running great, overlooked for selection in the marathon at this year's Olympics in Rio, finished first in Manchester, northwest England, in a time of 28 minutes and eight seconds, with Kenya's Wilson Kipsang a further seven seconds behind in second place.
Tirunesh Dibaba, like compatriot Bekele a three-time Olympic champion, made it an Ethiopian double in Manchester by winning the women's race in a time of 31 mins 16 secs.
Dibaba's victory was all the more impressive as this was her first competitive race in two years after she took a break from athletics to have a baby.
