Chebet, Kasait in Kenya team, but no place for Jepleting

Reigning World Cross Country champion Emily Chebet and 2013 World Youth 3,000m champion Lillian Kasait have been included in the national team for the World Cross Country Championships.

Chebet, who finished 14th in women’s 8km race in 27:19.2, was given a wild card in the team of seven that has the winner Faith Chepng’etich, Agnes Jebet, Iken Chebet, Alice Aprot and Stacy Ndiwa.

The surprise exclusion is Sheila Chepng’etich, who had won three AK Cross Series events in Nairobi, Iten and Nyahururu. Another surprise exclusion is Sela Jepleting, who clinched the Kenya Defence Forces Cross Country Championships.
