Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi permitted Nock secretary Francis Kinyili Paul to travel to Burundi and Egypt to attend two crucial International Olympics Committee (IOC) meetings.

The magistrate allowed an application by lawyer Julius Kitheka, who is defending Kinyili aka FK Paul, to be  given his passport which was detained in court to enable him to travel to the two African countries.

Kitheka told the magistrate that all the four Nock officials had been directed to deposit their travel documents in court as a bail pre-condition.

He, however, said the accused, who represent Kenya in IOC matters, was allowed to be applying to get back his travel documents “whenever there is an international IOC engagement”.

“The accused will bring back his passport after attending the Burundi and Egypt engagements,” Kitheka told the magistrate.

Andayi ordered the deputy registrar of the High Court to give Kinyili his travel document.

He further ordered Kinyili to hand back the passport to the registrar after returning from the Burundi and Egypt meetings.

The court also heard from lawyer Kimutai Bosek, who is defending Stephen Kiptanui arap Soi that crucial information, which is in the computers taken away by police, was required by IOC.
