Kenyans shine at Prague marathon

  • Purity Rionoripo romped home second in personal best 2:25:00 as Risper Chebet wrapped up the last podium place in 2:27:23.

Lawrence Cherono and Lucy Karimi on Sunday led Kenya to victory in both men and women races at the Prague Marathon.

Cherono, who was the 2015 Sevilla Marathon champion, swept to victory in 2:07:24 beating defending champion Felix Kandie to second place (2:08:15) as Solomon Kirwa came in third in 2:08:31.
Karimi returned personal best 2:24:46 to triumph in the women’s race surpassing her previous record by over three minutes.

Rionoripo won silver in junior race at the 2010 World Cross and was 2009 World Youth 3,000m champion
