Asbel, Chemos lead at Diamond League classic

AsbelKiprop, who holds the second fastest time in the world this year in the 1,500m, won the Bowerman Mile with a world-leading time of 3:49.40.
In the women's 3,000m steeple chase, Milcah Chemos lead the pack finishing in 9:15.81.
Kiprop's Kenyan counterparts Bethwell Birgen, Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku, Collins Cheboi, Daniel Kipchirchir Komen, Silas Kiplagat took five out of the 16 finishing slots.
Ethiopia's Sofia Assefa took second place after Chemos as Lidya Chepkurui, Mercy Wanjiku Njoroge, Lydia Chebet Rotich and Hyvin Kiyeng came in third, fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
In other highlights, Liu, the 2004 Olympic gold medallist, blasted out of the blocks and led from start to finish with the help of a strong tailwind measured at +2.4 metres per second in front of a standing room crowd at Hayward Field.
Reigning world champion Mo Farah of Great Britain triumphed in the 5,000m in a world-leading time of 12 minutes 56.98 seconds.
Isaiah Kiplangat Koech of Kenya was second in 12:57.63 and American Galen Rupp finished third in 12:58.90.
Reigning Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia finished fourth in 13:01.48.
