  • Kenya will play their last match against Scotland in UAE on December 6 and 8.

Cricket Kenya chairlady Jackie Janmohamed on Thursday said that she was upset by ICC's decision to move Kenya's ICC World Cricket League match against The Netherlands from Nairobi to South Africa.

The match would have taken place at the Nairobi Gymkhana on October 6 and 8, but now it has been moved to Buffalo Park, East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa, where it will take place on the same dates.

Janmohamed said that Netherlands asked ICC to move the tournament from Nairobi and take it to either Zimbabwe or South Africa due to election uncertainty in the country.

She said: “When the judgment on election petition was delayed, everybody was uneasy.”

She was optimistic that things will be alright after the elections and that Kenya will host international fixtures.

Commenting on the decision, national team coach Thomas Odoyo said: "It is unfair to us as we have lost home advantage. This is a very important game to us because it will affect our rankings.”

“We still hope to get good results in South Africa, the guys are professionals.”

The Netherlands are top of the table with 16 points while Kenya is fifth with 10. Papua New Guinea are second (14), Scotland third (13), Hong Kong fourth (11), Nepal sixth (8), UAE seventh (6) and Namibia last (4).

The teams are fighting for the four slots reserved for them in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers at a venue to be announced by the ICC.
