  • Kenya captain, Rakep Patel, who turns out for Kanbis, is in terrific form and has been consistently knocking centuries this season.

Defending Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association Super League champions Kanbis will be hosted by Swamibapa at the Nairobi Jaffreys ground on Sunday in what is expected to be a fiercely contested match.

Kenya captain, Rakep Patel, who turns out for Kanbis, is in terrific form and has been consistently knocking centuries this season.

Last week, Kanbis beat Ruaraka by 10 wickets courtesy of Patel and his opening partner, Dhiren Gondaria. On the other hand, Swamibapa’s Alex Obanda, had a brilliant innings, knocking double century in a game that his team scored 409 runs against Ruaraka, whom they defeated by a whopping 312 runs.

Therefore, when the two umpires take up their positions, the whole ground at the Lavington will be set aflame.

At Ruiru, Stray Lions who are serious league contenders even though the title has been evading them, will be at home to Nairobi Gymkhana in a game they start as favourites.

As for Gymkhana, they  are still  licking their wounds after going down to Kongonis, who beat them by 40 runs last Sunday.

Tanmay Mishra, who was expected to fit in the shoes of Maurice Odumbe as a top order batsman in the national team, before he moved to India, will spearhead the Lions batting attack.

The team is captained by Hiren Varaiya, another former national team player.

The former national team captain, Collins Obuya is another match winning player in the side. Odumbe is also part of the squad and in a good day he still does well with the ball.

As for Gymkhana, Karan Kaul will be expected to lead batting attack in the absence of  Rushba Patel, who will be leaving for Pakistan on Sunday accompanied by three other boys.

Cutchi Leva will be home to Ruaraka in a game they are likely to win hands down. Ruaraka are yet to register victory.
