What you need to know:

  • In the second semi-final, the Lions will face Sikh Union at the Nairobi Gymkhana.

It will be make-or-break for both Kanbis and Swamibapa on Saturday when they fight it out at Sikh Union grounds in the semi-finals of the Harilal Shah Memorial Twenty20 tournament.

The meeting between the two teams is expected to be explosive and when the two umpires take up their positions, the whole field will come to life.

The two sides have a large following and matches between the two teams have seen fans taunt each other depending on which side is doing well at a particular time.

Stray Lions dethroned Kanbis in the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association super league, taking the title the team has held for 16 successive years. Kanbis must now fight tooth and nail to redeem themselves.

Swamibapa are still struggling to regain their lost glory of the 1990s when they dominated the local club cricket scene, supplying the bulk of national team players.
