Rakep Patel bowls Kenya past Hong Kong

He shared a fifth wicket stand of 195 with Shahdi Wasif (44 off 61 balls), the best stand for the side.

KD Shah (34 off 17) and Babar Hayat (24 off 43) were the other batsman who posted meaningful runs on the scoreboard.

Rakep was Hong Kong’s main executioner taking five wickets for 16 runs conceded in his six over that included one maiden. 

His victims were Rath whom he caught and bowled. He had Waif stumped by wicket keeper, Irfan Karim. He got Aizaz Khan caught by Nehemiah Odhiambo (8 off 34). He also had Afzal caught by Alex Obanda for a duck.

Other Kenyan wicket takers were Nelson Odhiambo (3/14) and Nehemiah Odhiambo (2/34)

In reply Kenya reached reduced target of 200 in 43 overs by reaching 201 for 7 in40.5 overs.

The two teams meet again on Sunday to compete their double-header in Nairobi.
