Sports minister Hellen Sambili is expected to explain the government’s refusal to allow Nairobi's Nyayo National Stadium to be renamed Coca Cola National Stadium.

Prof Sambili will next Thursday shed light on the latest events surrounding the sports ground following her statement that the buying rights were improper.

This follows a request for a ministerial statement by ODM Chief Whip Jakoyo Midiwo (Gem), who wants Parliament to be told what Kenya stands to lose or gain from the latest turn of events.

The ground was renamed after the beverage company won three-year naming rights in a Sh118 million deal. But Coca Cola withdrew its name this week after a meeting with the government.

The world is populated by smart people, and dumb people. The smart ones are just dumb people who know they're not smart. The dumb ones are the ones we elect to Parliament, such as this ignorant woman, appointed Minister for sports, who thinks a stadium has been pawned off. Yes madam, you are dumber than a dumb bell.
