Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards on Monday announced a two-year sponsorship kit deal with American firm Edge Sports.

The Sh3 million deal will ensure Leopards’ first team is supplied with playing kit, track suits, polo shirts, playing boots, training balls and playing boots.

Edge Sports will in the meantime be allowed to sell replica merchandise to the club’s clientele for the duration of the contract while pocketing 80 percent of the proceeds while the 20 percent of the earning will go to the club.

“We are still trying to establish the outlets across the country where the merchandise will be sold. I wish to assure our fans that we avail merchandise for all age groups,” the club’s assistant secretary general Kadima Asawa told Daily Nation Sport.

The new kitting deal comes in the wake of similar ones involving the national team and league champions Gor Mahia with Spanish sportswear dealer Joma.

The deal will officially be unveiled in December with Leopards, who also boast a shirt sponsorship contract with Mumias Sugar Company, expected to start using the new kit next season.
