Several clubs are interested in Harambee Stars and El-Merreikh striker Allan Wanga’s signature.

Wanga, who helped his Sudanese club win its third Cecafa Kagame Cup title on Sunday in Kigali with his neat 25th minute goal against hosts APR, has been approached by several clubs and will weigh his options once he runs down his contract with El-Merreikh.

According to sources in Kigali, Tanzania’s Azam have already made contact with the striker while there is also interest from South African clubs SuperSport and Amazulu.

“I want to thank God that we won this title. I started the tournament with an injury so it’s a great feeling,” Wanga told Daily Nation Sport.

“At the moment, I am enjoying myself in Sudan. Everything is fine.”

IN GOOD FORM

The widely-travelled striker then went on to reflect on his career. “I have played for several clubs and right now there are offers. I will weigh my options once the season comes to an end  and see what is best for me. If they give me a better deal I may consider staying.”

Prior to  joining El-Merreikh, Wanga was in talks with SuperSport but the South Africans were beaten to the deal by the Sudanese.

Since he moved to Khartoum the centre forward has been in good form justifying coach Yousief Burhaneldin’s decision to sign him.

He has scored four goals so far for his new employers, two in the Sudan Cup competition that fired them to the finals.

It is, however, his Sunday goal at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali that will be the highlight of his career with the Red Devils so far as it not only handed them the regional title but also ended a 20-year wait for Cecafa glory.
