Bandari takes over National Div 1 league leadership

Former Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Bandari FC dislodged Kariobangi Sharks from the top of the National Division One league standings when they collected four points from their two matches at their Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa over the weekend.

Bandari put up a good show to register a fine 3-0 victory over the visiting Nairobi Stima and could have won by a bigger margin had their forwards utlised many scoring chances. The portsmen team got their goals therough Tony Otieno, Raphael Okello and Crispine Odula.

Congo earn points

Another former KPL side, Congo United also managed to secure four points after beating Bidco United 1-0 and drew 2-2 against Administration Police in matches at Mombasa Sports Club.

The other Coast team to finish the week with four points was Sparki Youth who beat Administration Police 1-0 prior to being held to a goalless draw by Nairobi Stima at Ronald Ngala primary school ground.

Bidco United returned home with a single point through a 1-1 draw with Coast United at Tudor Day secondary school ground. Later at the same venue, Magongo Rangers suffered a 2-0  defeat at the hands of the visiting Mahakama.

Admiral of Mombasa returned from their up-country tour with two points when they drew 0-0 and 2-2 against Green Berets and KSL Thola Glass at Ruiru KSL grounds respectively.
