  • Mr Gabriel Mghendi said it was now high time Bandari FC officials who have failed to deliver and have the team win the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title to be replaced.
  • But a member of the Bandari FC board of governors, Musa Hassan Musa, said those salivating for positions in the team should appreciate the efforts the current officers are making in keeping everything in order including payments of players’ salaries and allowances.

Bandari FC officials holding back the team should be kicked out, a former Mombasa football administrator has said.

Bandari FC officials have been asked to prepare for elections to leave out those who have failed in their duties of making the team win the Kenya premier league (KPL).

Mr Gabriel Mghendi said it was now high time Bandari FC officials who have failed to deliver and have the team win the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title to be replaced.

Mghendi said Bandari needs devoted leaders who can help the team do well and win the top country’s league.

But a member of the Bandari FC board of governors, Musa Hassan Musa, said those salivating for positions in the team should appreciate the efforts the current officers are making in keeping everything in order including payments of players’ salaries and allowances.

“We are in the processing of changing the club to be a community one and we’ll register members who are to elect officials to run it,” said Musa.

He however challenged those criticising Bandari officials to also get involved in assisting other non-institutional teams to rise and fully participate in the national league.

He said they should help lead other Coast clubs including Admiral, Modern Coast Rangers among others which need help in their day to day affairs and secure sponsorship for them.

Mghendi said if Bandari is a Coastal team, then, residents should be allowed to elect officials of their choice who are committed to improve the performance of the team in the KPL.
