Bandari officials have asked home fans to turn out in large numbers when the team opens its campaign for the 2017 Kenya Premier League title against newly-promoted Nakumatt on Saturday at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club.

Bandari’s CEO, Edward Oduor has requested Coast fans to turn up in large numbers and cheer the team to victory, adding that a good performance in the first match would put the team on the path to a good performance in the season.

“I wish to appeal to football lovers in the entire Coast region to show up in large numbers to cheer the team. Bandari is the pride of Coast and the boys need your morale support,” said Oduor.

The Bandari official said the team has many talented players and lauded the new coach Paul Nkata who has managed to blended youth and experience in the team.

“Nkata brings a wealth of experience in the team, having won the KPL title with Tusker last season. We hope this achievement will be replicated in our team this season,” said Oduor.

He said since Nkata’s arrival, the officials have seen positive change in the team and players have adapted the Ugandan’s football philosophy ahead of the season-opener.

Oduor also lauded Nkata’s assistant Ken Odhiambo for helping the team finish in a respectful position last season. Bandari completed last season’s league in the 11th position.

Bandari have so far played a number of warm-up matches against Coast-based teams, among them Changamwe Combined, Mwatate United, Coast Stima and their youth team.
