  • It was the visitors who made the first attempt on goal in the fifth minute when Elias Kipkemboi was put through by Hillary Echesa but sent a weak shot that was easily saved by Bandari goalkeeper Wilson Obungu.
  • Bandari striker Erick Okoth, who returned after a long-lay off had a good chance but his shot was cleared by All Stars goalie Indimuli Shaywe.
  • At half time, some Bandari fans shouted at their team’s technical officials urging them to accompany the players to the dressing room to talk to them to change their style of play.

Bandari supporters once again returned home disappointed after their team failed to beat the lowly-placed Nakuru All Stars in a Kenyan Premier League match that ended one-all at Mombasa County Stadium yesterday.

Peter Mwangi opened the scores for the visitors at the quarter hour mark but Anthony Kimani levelled with seven minutes to go before.

In a rather dull match, All Stars had the upper hand in the first half and they could have scored two goals before the break had their forwards been more accurate on goal.

The game started at a slow pace with most of the action concentrated in midfield.

It was the visitors who made the first attempt on goal in the fifth minute when Elias Kipkemboi was put through by Hillary Echesa but sent a weak shot that was easily saved by Bandari goalkeeper Wilson Obungu.

Then came All Stars’ goal in the 15th minute when Mwangi collected a fine pass from his captain Frank Balla and sent a powerful ground shot that beat Obungu all the way.

Bandari striker Erick Okoth, who returned after a long-lay off had a good chance but his shot was cleared by All Stars goalie Indimuli Shaywe.

Five minutes later, Bandari players briefly protested to referee Michael Iluve demanding a penalty award claiming All Stars’ Amon Muchiri had handled the ball inside the box but the whistler waved their appeal away.

At half time, some Bandari fans shouted at their team’s technical officials urging them to accompany the players to the dressing room to talk to them to change their style of play.

It was in the second half that the home team returned a more organised side, missing their first golden chance of equalising when Lawrence Kasadha sent a fine cross to David Gateri who unleashed a powerful that was brilliantly saved by Shaywe. Bandari has sounded a warning.
