Tusker coach George “Best” Nsimbe is happy with the kind of preparation the team has had as they build up to Saturday’s Caf Champions League preliminary round match against AS Port-Louis of Mauritius.

Nsimbe said that the week-long residential training he has had with the team has been highly beneficial as he has had time to work both on the team’s fitness levels as well as the players’ psychological readiness.

He also said that all his players were enjoying full health and should be available to play on Saturday.

“We started training only six weeks ago and even though we have played a couple of friendly games, it just felt as though we are not there yet.

“Fitness levels are good but it is the tactical aspects of the game that were worrying me. That is why I am very happy with the days that we have been in camp because it has given me time to gauge my players and tune them,” Nsimbe said during a team’s training session this week.

Pundits aver that the brewers, veterans of many campaigns in Africa should find easy passage to the next stage.

It will however be the brewers’ first time to taste continental football since February 2013.

Nsimbe will need to rearrange his squad to accommodate the newly signed players whom he says have showed great promise in training.

Their defensive department is one area that is sure to be reorganised, as dependable defender Eugene Asike is ineligible to feature in this match due to late registration.

Meanwhile, Port Louis were scheduled to arrive in the country on Thursday evening, and will be allowed to feel the pitch at the Safaricom Stadium, Kasrani on Friday.
