A 2-2 draw was the outcome of the midweek sugar derby between Chemelil Sugar and Sony Sugar which was played at the Chemelil Sports Complex.

George Abege and Benjamin Mosha scored for Sony in either half of the match while Amani Kyata and Philip Muchuma struck to ensure the hosts ended up with a point from the match.

Abege was first on the score sheet with a goal in the 14th minute, thereby gifting the visitors an early lead.

Three minutes before the half time break, little known midfielder Kyata successfully converted a penalty to bring back parity as the teams went into the half time break 1-1.

The resilient Sony Sugar however regained the lead in the 64th minute through Mosha, who received a cross from Abege, and once more the hosts drew level via a powerful header from second half substitute Philip Muchuma eight minutes later.
