Clifton Miheso closes in on Buildcon move in Zambia

Harambee Stars winger Clifton Miheso is on the verge of joining Zambian Super League side Buildcon, Daily Nation Sport can reveal.

The 24-year-old left Nairobi for Ndola on Wednesday morning where he is expected to pen a wo-year deal with the newly promoted club.

"We have agreed on almost everything but nothing is signed as yet. I am heading there to play football, something I love, while also looking for a fresh start," Miheso, who was accompanied by local football agent George Bwana, confirmed.

The fresh start the left football attacker is referring to, could be linked to a recent troubled spell he underwent at South African top tier club Golden Arrows.

While there, it was widely reported in January, that the former AFC Leopards and Sofapaka player was forced to terminate his two-year contract with the PSL outfit after six months at gunpoint after masked goons who were acting on orders from the club hierarchy.

Miheso has since filed a case at Fifa's Dispute Resolution Chambers accusing the club of wrongful dismissal, while the South African Footballers Players Union have also taken up the case, and recently demonstrated outside the country's football headquarters, where Fifa president Gianni Infantinno was visiting.

Kenyan players are increasingly finding the Zambian top flight lucrative.

Miheso's transfer is expected to be completed on Thursday, clearing the way for the skilful left sided attacker to join three other Kenyan internationals Jesse Were, Anthony Akumu and David "Calabar" Owino who turn out for Zesco United.

Zesco United won the (domestic) Barclays Cup, made it to the semi-finals of the Caf Champions League, and finished second in the 16-team league last season.
