A number of teams have complained of poor officiating aimed at influencing results.

“Wazito is a victim of bad decisions that have a direct impact on the promotion race. We’ve suffered in two consecutive games that benefitted KCB,” Wazito patron Solomon Alubala alleged in relation to their 3-3 draw against Administration Police last month.

The team was controversially denied a chance to retake a penalty after their was player was adjudged to have encroached the prohibited area.

On Sunday, Vihiga United beat Talanta 1-0 courtesy of a Patrick Okullo penalty in the 80th minute. Replays show Talanta defender Ronny Katumanga didn’t handle the ball as ruled by referee Peter Wekesa.

The incident led to Talanta coach John Kamau being sent off for questioning the decision.

Victory sent Edward Manoah’s Vihiga to 65 points, two adrift of leaders KCB. Ushuru is second on 66 with Wazito and Nairobi Stima fourth and fifth respectively.
