Coast Under-13 side set for residential training

Eighteen players from North and South Coast are set to go for a residential training camp before the unveiling of the Coast Combined Under-13 team ahead of the national tournament to be held in Nakuru next weekend.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) North Coast branch chairman Fuad Ali said the Coast Combined team, which was selected after series of trials, is expected to go for a residential training camp week, three days before their departure for Nakuru.

“The 18 players are currently training in their respective areas but are expected to be together by Wednesday,” said Ali.

He said they are trying to organise for the transportation of the North Coast players to Mombasa early so they can train together with their South Coast teammates prior to the start of the residential training camp.

The South Coast players have been training since Monday at Frere Town ground in Mombasa under coaches Patrick Nyale, Billy Mwangemi, Andrew Hodari and Elisha Mwasi.

The selected players are Shee Athumani, Juma Fadhili, Ali Swaleh, Juma Khalid, Ibrahim Mine, Ali Mohamed, Edward Munene, Shaban Mzee, Abdulrahman Fauz, Anthony Kadzitu, and Suleiman Juma.

Those from North Coast include David Christopher, Robin Mangi, Maxwell Joseph, Anthony Kazitu, Charles Mwarandu, Twaha Mohamed, Abdulrahman Mohamed and Yusuf Jamal.
