David Moyes leaves Manchester United as Giggs takes over

Manager David Moyes has left Manchester United, the club announced on their Twitter account on Tuesday.

The club has also named Ryan Giggs as the interim boss until a permanent manager is appointed.

A statement on the website said: "Following the departure of David Moyes as manager, Manchester United has announced that Ryan Giggs, the club’s most decorated player, will assume responsibility for the first team until a permanent appointment can be made.

"The club will make no further comment on this process until it is concluded."

News of Moyes's exit comes a day after widespread reports in the British media that he was facing the sack, just 10 months after succeeding Alex Ferguson as manager of the world-famous club. (READ: Moyes shrivelled beneath United spotlight)
