Belgium striker Divock Origi has been named in French newspaper L’Equipe's Ligue 1 worst team of the season.

Origi, son of retired Kenyan footballer Mike Okoth, was signed by Liverpool from Lille in the summer of 2014 for about Sh1.5 billion but remained at the French club on loan ahead of his move to Anfield at the end of the 2014/15 season.

Origi played in all five of Belgium’s games at the 2014 Fifa World Cup during their run to the quarter-finals and scored in the 1-0 win over Russia.

But the striker was unable to replicate that stellar form, scoring only eight goals in 33 Ligue 1 appearances, and suffered a goal drought between October and March that spanned 20 matches.

L’Equipe gave Origi an average rating of 4.46 for his performances over the season.

The striker began his career at Genk before moving to Lille as a 15-year-old.
