Frontrunners in the upcoming Football Kenya Federation on Saturday held strategy meetings in various parts of the country ahead of the national elections which kick off on February 10.

There are however signs that the national elections could be postponed again due to a rising number of complains tabled before the Football Kenya Federation Appeals Board.

A case involving Ijaara sub branch is yet to be determined, and yesterday, the FKF Appeals Board confirmed receipt of two more petitions from Kisumu and Western branches.

The branch chairmen in these regions are complaining about the voters’ register that was used during the branch elections.

Adan Mohamed-led committee now has only one week to resolve the disputes.

“The national elections are 11 days away. There have been only two complains, but that is no cause for worry because the appeals board can take even one day to resolve all the disputes,” Board treasurer David Mereka told Sunday Nation Sport

Nevertheless, campaigns for the national elections continued throughout yesterday, with incumbent Sam Nyamweya, Nick Mwendwa, and Kenyan Premier League chairman Ambrose Rachier holding meetings in Nairobi. Mwendwa met more than 40 delegates who were elected in last week’s branch elections at a Nairobi hotel and asked them to remain faithful to his football dream.
