Struggling Muhoroni Youth are set to appoint Francis Baraza as the team’s new head coach.

“Yes it is Baraza. The deal will run till the end of this season. We settled on him because of his experience as a player and coach.

“Remember he won the league title with Sony Sugar (in 2006). I am certain he will deliver,” a senior official within the club who wished not to be named because the deal has not been concluded told the Daily Nation Sport.

Baraza, who was himself sacked by Kenyan Premier League side Western Stima a fortnight back, is set to replace Patrick Odhiambo who has now been relegated to the assistant coaching role.

Odhiambo has presided over an unimpressive start to the 2014 league season with Muhoroni as the sugar millers have lost all three their fixtures thus far this season.

The team has only scored two goals in those game and conceded eight.

The club is currently placed second from bottom on the 16 team table standings.
