Is Frank Nuttall still the coach of Gor Mahia or not?

The 47-year-old Scot released a short statement to the media on Thursday night stating that the club had fired him.

It read: “The executive committee of Gor Mahia has terminated my contract today via a letter to my lawyer.

“The reason for terminating my contract is because the executive committee of Gor Mahia club wanted to reduce my salary by 50 per cent whereas my contract clearly provided for a 10 per cent increase of my salary from 1st January, 2016.

Club fans took to social media to blast the development and show support for the coach.

Gor then posted on their official website: “That statement (by Nuttall) is inaccurate and it is important that we put the record straight.”

Club organising secretary David Kiilo also said: “On my side, I believe the talks are still ongoing even though he has pre-maturely released a statement.
“I expect him to be in Mombasa (for the Super Cup game against Bandari) because his room had been booked.”
