Gor Mahia patron Raila Odinga appeals for calm during club polls

Raila Odinga, the patron of Gor Mahia, has appealing to the team to rally behind its the current management until elections for new officials are held.

Mr Odinga also appealed to Gor fans and members of the club to exercise restraint and remain calm during preparations for the elections.

He asked the players and technical bench to remain committed and focused as the club prepares for its continental assignments after a a hard-fought title battle.

The former prime minister also appealed to the fans to be ready to show their support for their team.

ELECTIONS POSTPONED

On Sunday, the club's elections were postponed after the event turned chaotic, leaving the retuning officer Jackson Ndakwa no choice but to call off the exercise. (READ: Gor elections postponed after clashes)

The position of chairman was being contested by Ambrose Rachier, the incumbent, and Nairobi-based advocate Eric Adede.
