  • Tusker will be at Awendo Green Stadium where they will face Sony Sugar. Sony’s head coach Zedekiah Otieno said his team has prepared well but he expects a tough match.
  • On Sunday AFC Leopards will be up against Mathare United at the Nyayo National Stadium hoping to ending their three-match winless streak.

Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia will be seeking to return to winning ways this weekend after dropping crucial points in recent matches.

Gor Mahia will be in action against Western Stima at Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium in one of the two matches to played on Saturday while Leopards take on Mathare United hoping to clinch their first league win in four attempts on Sunday.

For the first time this season, Bobby Williamson’s men will be without the services of talismanic striker Dan Sserunkuma who is in Denmark for trials.

The reigning KPL champions go into the match aiming for a win that could take them back on top having been dislodged by Tusker last weekend.

The two teams are on 31 points each but the brewers sit on top of the log thanks to a better goal difference.

Still on Saturday, Tusker will be at Awendo Green Stadium where they will face Sony Sugar. Sony’s head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno said his team has prepared well but he expects a tough match.

“We are not going into the match looking at Tusker as the league leaders but as opponents whom we need to overcome and I believe we will emerge victorious,” said the former Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars coach.

THREE MATCH WINLESS STREAK

On Sunday AFC Leopards will be up against Mathare United at the Nyayo National Stadium hoping to ending their three-match winless streak.

For Ingwe, the optimism that surrounded the arrival of head coach Pieter De Jongh is fast fading and giving way to the grim reality that they have barely moved up one place up in the table since the Dutchman arrived.

The GOtv Shield winners are placed 12th position with four wins from 16 matches so far. Mathare United are are two places down but only a point separates them from Leopards.

Leopards will therefore be looking to pick all three points to turn around their fortunes this season.

Other matches lined up for Sunday will see 2010 KPl champions Ulinzi Stars battling with Sofapaka in Nakuru, while relegation threatened KCB will welcome Thika United to Nairobi’s City Stadium.

Twahir Muhiddin will lead Bandari against Muhoroni Youth at the Mbaraki Stadium where they will be hoping to get only their fifth win of the season.
